SaaS Platform

SaaS Workflow Automation Platform

A multi-tenant platform where teams compose their own approval and automation workflows, with every run auditable step by step.

The problem

What this kind of product has to solve

Business processes that cross teams usually run on email, a shared spreadsheet, and institutional memory. Requests stall with no visible owner, approvals happen in private threads, and nobody can reconstruct afterward why a decision was made.

Generic automation tools solve part of this and then hit a wall: they handle the happy path well but cope poorly with approvals, long-running waits, partial failure, and the audit requirements that regulated or high-value processes carry.

The solution concept

How we built it

This concept build demonstrates a workflow engine designed around durability. A workflow run is a persisted state machine rather than a script in flight, so it survives deployments, provider outages, and a three-week wait for someone to approve a step.

Non-technical users compose workflows from typed building blocks - triggers, conditions, approvals, integrations, timers - with validation that catches unreachable branches and missing handlers before a workflow goes live.

Every run keeps an immutable, step-by-step record: inputs, the decision taken, who took it, and when. That trail is the feature that makes the platform usable for processes with real consequences rather than only for convenience automations.

Engineering decisions

The choices that actually determine whether it works

Each of these could have gone the other way. The reasoning is the part worth reading - it is how we would argue the same case on your project.
  1. 01

    Durable execution over fire-and-forget

Runs are persisted state machines with idempotent steps. A retry cannot double-charge, double-send, or double-approve.

  2. 02

Tenant isolation at the data layer

Every query is scoped by tenant in the data-access layer rather than by convention in application code, with tests asserting each boundary holds.

  3. 03

    Failures become work, not silence

A step that cannot complete lands in an exception queue with context and a retry action, instead of disappearing into a log nobody reads.

  4. 04

    The builder prevents invalid workflows

Typed connections and static validation of the graph, so misconfiguration is caught at design time rather than discovered during an incident.

Intended business value

What this is designed to achieve

  • Intended to give cross-team processes a visible owner and stage at every point, removing the status-chasing that consumes coordination time.
  • Designed so that an auditable record is a by-product of running the process, not a separate reporting exercise after the fact.
  • Built for the unhappy paths - waits, retries, partial failure, exceptions - which is where simpler automation tools typically stop being usable.

No outcome figures are shown because this is a concept build with no client deployment behind it. Quoting a percentage here would be fabrication, so we quote nothing.
